Paint Pouring

Paint pouring is when you put paint in a cup and pour it on a canvas.

To paint pour you will need a cup, a popsicle stick, a few different colors of paint and a canvas or a flat piece of wood. You can wear gloves if you want to so you don’t get paint on your hands.

To paint pour you don’t use a specific amount of paint so you can guess on how much you need, unless you are following a tutorial and they say to measure your paints. You can also use any color you want.

To start you put all of the colors you want on your canvas in a cup. Next you pour it right in the center of your canvas. After you pick up the canvas, you tilt it to each side so that the paint reaches all the sides and corners of the canvas. Next you swirl it around with a popsicle stick to get a cool swirly affect. You don’t have to use a popsicle stick but if you want it to be swirlier than it is you can use it. Then let the canvas dry for a few hours. If you want to, you can stick letters or words on it like I did with the photo below. You can also use a hair dryer to separate the oil from the paint color to create a cool affect. Paint pouring is so much fun.
